| When Buffy had her first litter we had every intention of keeping a girl, which we did. But, we also kept Patriot. From the beginning, Patriot was a puppy that caught our (and everyone else’s) eye and he was earmarked to go to a home that would both Field Trial and Show him. We wanted him with owners that had experience doing both. We held him back in order to find the right home that would meet our expectations and take him to his full potential. It was not very long before we actually accepted the fact that we were in love with him and just could not bear to see him go. By the time we made the decision to admit that we were keeping him, he was pretty attached to his “litter” name, so we let him keep it. |
